DSM-Firmenich Q3 Sales Pass €2.3bn on Beauty Volume Growth

DSM-Firmenich posted quarterly sales above €2.3 billion for the third quarter of 2026, with adjusted EBITDA rising 8% like-for-like to €482 million from €458 million.
The company attributed the gain to volume-driven sales growth in perfumery and beauty, and said ongoing innovation in its beauty portfolio helped sustain sales during the quarter.
"We delivered another good quarter of volume-led growth and continued adjusted EBITDA margin improvement," said Dimitri de Vreeze, CEO of DSM-Firmenich.
"All businesses contributed well, demonstrating the quality of our portfolio in an ongoing highly dynamic global macroeconomic environment."
Which beauty segments drove the numbers?
Fine fragrances kept strong momentum, posting high single-digit LFL growth, with particular strength in prestige fine fragrance markets.
Consumer fragrances delivered another quarter of double-digit LFL growth, which the company credited to innovation and reformulations.
Ingredients achieved mid-single-digit growth.
The fragrance and beauty engine, in short, carried the quarter. Fine fragrance prestige demand and consumer-side reformulation work both outpaced the group's overall top-line trajectory.
What did the CEO say about the outlook?
"Moving into the fourth quarter, business conditions remain supportive, with a healthy innovation pipeline, high win rates and continued good sales growth," de Vreeze said.
The CEO also framed the quarter within the company's wider financial plan.
"We are well on track to deliver our 2026 targets, driving top-line growth and margin expansion, while maintaining a strong focus on cash and capital discipline," he said.
"In addition, our cost savings and restructuring programme are progressing well."
"Together, this provides us with an excellent platform to deliver on our 2027/2028 targets."
What about the Animal Nutrition divestment?
The results land weeks after a major portfolio move. On 9 February 2026, DSM-Firmenich announced its intention to divest its Animal Nutrition & Health business to CVC Capital Partners for an estimated €2.2 billion.
The divestment doubles the company down on its nutrition, health and beauty offering. It sharpens the strategic focus on the very segments — perfumery and beauty among them — that delivered this quarter's growth.
For beauty and personal care suppliers watching the ingredient major, the signal is clear: DSM-Firmenich is allocating capital toward fragrance and beauty innovation, and Q3's volume-led numbers suggest that bet is already paying off ahead of the 2027/2028 target horizon.
