Simcere Pharmaceutical Group has secured exclusive commercialization rights to zemprocitinib, Lynk Pharmaceuticals' oral second-generation JAK1 inhibitor, across Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis in adults and other dermatology indications. The announcement, made in Hangzhou, Shanghai and Boston on November 2, 2026, extends a partnership that began in March 2022 and covers an asset whose atopic dermatitis NDA China's regulator accepted for review in April 2026.

The regulatory clock is already running. Zemprocitinib has completed its pivotal Phase III study in adult patients with moderate-to-severe AD, and the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) accepted its New Drug Application in April 2026. The RA Phase III study is also complete, while the Phase III program for ankylosing spondylitis is underway.

In plain terms: this is a deal signed at the moment a drug turns from a trial compound into a product.

What does the expanded deal cover?

The original March 2022 collaboration gave Simcere exclusive commercialization rights for zemprocitinib in RA and AS indications across the same Greater China territories. The new agreement adds AD and other dermatology indications to that footprint.

Lynk frames the structure as complementary: Simcere brings commercial muscle in immunology marketing, Lynk brings the molecule. The companies say the expansion should improve market development efficiency and patient access for the drug in dermatology.

Who said what

Mr. Yunshu Zhou, President of Simcere, said: "Zemprocitinib has achieved positive clinical progress across indications including atopic dermatitis and rheumatoid arthritis, showing excellent therapeutic potential. This collaboration will further expand the commercial footprint of zemprocitinib in dermatology while creating strong synergy with Simcere's existing dermatology portfolio."

Dr. Zhao-Kui (ZK) Wan, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Lynk Pharmaceuticals, said: "Zemprocitinib represents an important milestone for Lynk Pharmaceuticals in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, with its atopic dermatitis indication about to enter the commercialization stage. At this pivotal moment, we are delighted to expand our collaboration scope and deepen our partnership with Simcere."

Wan added that Simcere's professional marketing capabilities "strongly complement Lynk's strengths in innovative R&D."

Takeaway: both sides are positioning the deal as R&D strength plus sales channels, signed weeks before an expected launch decision.

Where the compound sits scientifically

Zemprocitinib is a highly selective, oral, second-generation JAK1 inhibitor discovered and developed in-house by Lynk. The company is developing it for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis and ankylosing spondylitis.

Lynk itself is a clinical-stage company focused on autoimmune and inflammatory disease, built on first-in-class small molecules positioned as oral alternatives to biologics. Its founders are senior R&D leaders from Pfizer, MSD and Johnson & Johnson. The company works the JAK-STAT pathway, is expanding into TYK2 signaling, and applies targeted protein degradation plus AI-assisted drug design across its platform. It has progressed multiple Class 1 new drug candidates.

For dermatologists, the relevant profile is straightforward: an oral, selective JAK1 inhibitor aimed at adults with moderate-to-severe AD, an indication where oral systemic options remain limited relative to biologics and topicals.

Takeaway: a JAK1 oral small molecule with a completed pivotal AD Phase III and a pending Chinese NDA.

Why the partner matters

Simcere Pharmaceutical Group operates the State Key Laboratory of Nervous and Oncology System Drug Research and focuses on neuroscience, oncology, autoimmune diseases and anti-infection. Its stated mission is "For patients, for life." The company runs a dual-engine model of in-house R&D and synergistic innovation, with strategic partnerships across innovative companies, research institutes and universities.

For a dermatology launch, Simcere's existing dermatology portfolio — referenced directly by Zhou — is the commercial asset Lynk is buying into. Simcere already sells into the channels zemprocitinib will need at NMPA approval.

What happens next

The near-term marker is the CDE's decision on the AD NDA, accepted in April 2026. If approved, Simcere would launch into a Greater China dermatology market with an oral JAK1 option, while the AS Phase III program continues in the background and the established RA and AS commercialization arrangement from 2022 rolls forward.
